Stephanie Hauser is an experienced trial attorney and former federal prosecutor who represents individuals and companies in complex, high stakes litigation, whistleblower actions, internal investigations, and grand jury investigations. She also represents federal equity receivers in SEC and other regulatory enforcement actions.
Ms. Hauser has a skillset tailored to rooting out fraud and representing the victims of financial crimes and fraud schemes in pursuing claims and asset recovery. Having served as a federal prosecutor for over six years with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida, Ms. Hauser gained extensive experience in conducting grand jury investigations into and prosecuting all manner of fraud, including financial crimes, health care fraud, securities and investor frauds, data breaches and business email compromises, tax fraud, private money mortgage fraud, and cryptocracy fraud schemes. She spent the last two years at the U.S. Attorney’s Office as a Deputy Chief in the Major Crimes Section, where she supervised, mentored, and trained the new prosecutors in the Office, as well as served as the Major Crimes Project Safe Childhood coordinator, supervising the prosecution of crimes against children.
Ms. Hauser is an accomplished trial attorney and courtroom advocate, having tried numerous federal jury trials before the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, conducted arbitrations before the AAA International Centre for Dispute Resolution, handled Chapter 15 and adversary proceedings before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Florida, as well as briefed and argued civil and criminal appellate matters before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Florida Third District Court of Appeals.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Hauser practiced at Kobre & Kim LLP, where she was the project manager for the team that served as the Independent Investigator for the Financial Oversight and Management Board for Puerto Rico, as well as represented clients in complex cross-border litigation, internal investigations, and government enforcement defense.

Significant Representations
- Trial counsel for an American entity defending against claims by a publicly-traded Russian entity involving breach of fiduciary duties and mining rights in excess of $100 million. The proceeding was settled after a one-week international arbitration proceeding.
- Trial counsel for a Canadian entity defending against claims by an American entity involving ten million dollars of commodities shipped from Russia. The proceeding was settled after a two-week international arbitration proceeding.
- Successfully represented a foreign family office in pursuing ~$50 million in aiding and abetting and civil fraud claims against a U.S. bank arising from a fraudulent film financing scheme. Case settled after court struck bank’s defenses as sanction for discovery violations.
Receivership and Monitorship Work
- Broadstreet– Serve as counsel to the Court-appointed monitor in an enforcement action brought by the Securities and Exchange Commission. The monitored entities operate a private equity fund that has raised $1 billion from investors for real estate, crypto mining, and other projects.
- Inbound Call Experts – Served as counsel to the Federal equity receiver appointed by the Federal Trade Commission and the Office of the Attorney General. The entities in receivership generated over $100 million from thousands of consumers. At the time of appointment, Inbound Call employed over 500 employees from two locations in South Florida and provided technical support services in the Philippines, the Dominican Republic, and Honduras.
Investigations and Government Enforcement Defense
- Conducted investigation on behalf of government oversight board related to Puerto Rico’s financial crisis.
- Successfully defended high speed futures trader against regulatory enforcement action by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
